The Association of Ethiopian Microfinance Institutions (AEMFI) is planning to hold its Bi-Annual Conference and General Assembly between March 24-27, 2008 in Assosa. The theme of this year's conference will be on "The Future of Microfinance in the New Ethiopian Millennium."

- Effective micro-loan insurance and micro-health Insurance programs to reduce vulnerability;
- Product development to match the needs of MSE operators.
Impact of microfinance
- How microfinance contributes to gender equality;
- The impact of microfinance on employment: what do we know?;
- Microfinance and agriculture: How to make it better work?;
- The impact of microfinance in reducing poverty.
Development of Saving and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs)
- The development of SACCOs in Ethiopia;
- The regulatory framework of SACCOs;
- Product development in SACCOs;

- The prospectus of SACCOs in Ethiopia.
The Association of Ethiopian Microfinance Institution (AEMFI) will pay a modest honorarium to authors of selected papers as a token of appreciation.
