Hivos and STOP AIDS NOW organise a workshop on March 26 - 27, 2009 in Kampala, Uganda. The topic of the workshop will be: "Sustainable collaboration between microfinance institutions and organisations working with and for people living with HIV."

Objectives
This workshop aims to set up a platform where organiSations working for and with people living with HIV and MFIs will work together in Uganda, to achieve the
following objectives:

To promote collaboration between HIV & AIDS organisations and MFIs working in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda with the purpose of increasing access to microfinance among households living with HIV&AIDS.
Improve access of AIDS information and services to beneficiaries of microfinance.
To promote the development of workplace policies towards HIV&AIDS among MFIs.
To set up a platform of MFIs and HIV&AIDS organisations.

Programme
The workshop will be a participatory workshop, this means that presentations as well as group sessions will form part of the programme.
Issues that will be addressed are:

Brainstorming session on the development of a specific loan product for people affected by HIV/Aids.
Identification of issues to be addressed by the partnership to achieve the expected goals.
Mapping of regions where both sectors work for future joint activities.
