Report workshop on challanges posed by HIV/AIDS to MFIs - Uganda, March 2009

In March 2009 Hivos and StopAidsNow!, in collaboration with MicroNed, have organised a workshop on the challenges posed by HIV to microfinance. The objective of the workshop was to build a long term partnership between MFI’s and organisations working with and for people living with HIV in Uganda to jointly face the challenges posed by HIV&AIDS aiming to:

• Increase access to microfinance among entrepreneurs living with HIV or affected by AIDS.
• Improve access of AIDS information and services to beneficiaries of microfinance.
• Promote the development of workplace policies towards HIV&AIDS among MFI’s.

35 Representatives of different HIV organisations and MFI’s joint for a two day workshop in Kampala to exchange ideas and possibilities for cooperation on these challenges. You can download the report of the workshop below.
