As of October 1st, 2012, MicroNed has joined hands with the Netherlands Platform for Microfinance and will continue as: NPM, Platform for Inclusive Finance


Since 2006, the members of MicroNed have been able to address important changes and challenges in the microfinance sector and became the frontrunners of initiatives such as MFTransparency and the Rating Initiative. During this period, the MicroNed members were also members of the Netherlands Platform for Microfinance.

Over the years, MicroNed and the Netherlands Platform for Microfinance have been working more closely together on developments in the sector and in January 2011, the MicroNed secretariat took over the platform's secretariat from Triodos Facet. This October, the two organizations joined their efforts, forming NPM, Platform for Inclusive Finance (NPM), an association hosted at ICCO, Utrecht.

NPM brings together donors, social investors and commercial banks from the Netherlands. The central ambition of NPM and its members is to promote inclusive finance as a contribution to poverty alleviation in developing countries. NPM aspires to be an ambitious, but also practical and operational platform. 

In a special working group the four developing corporations Cordaid, Hivos, ICCO and Oxfam Novib will continue their specialized sector-approach on this industry.
